Our Caring Staff

Meet Our Licensed Staff

Our licensed staff of funeral directors has over 185 years of combined funeral service experience and can represent and relate to people of all ages, from the Swing Generation to Baby Boomers to Generation X'ers. For you, this means we've probably seen and been asked to do almost anything. We are familiar with most local churches and their ministers, and we can handle services for any faith or denomination represented in Spartanburg County.

Our Preparation and Embalming Staff has over 100 years of combined experience which means they can handle the most difficult body preparation conditions, from autopsy to body trauma to long periods of hospitalization. They are capable of caring for all body types, shapes and sizes, and any cause of death. Our families are always very pleased and often surprised at their loved one's final appearance.

Today's funeral director is now more of a memorial event planner. A funeral or memorial service often involves the same level of planning as a wedding or bar mitzvah. However, the planning for a funeral usually must be accomplished in a few days rather than over several months, all while the family is coping with the overwhelming emotion and physical exhaustion common to the death of a loved one. Our funeral directors and staff are caring, extensively trained professionals who bring a diversity of skills to the logistics of your service so you can focus on your family and friends.

Our funeral directors and embalmers are licensed by South Carolina state law and complete continuing education courses annually. Many directors have their preneed insurance licenses and are well-versed and experienced in handling all types of at-need or advance-need situations.

Kimberly R. Lawyer (SC FDE License #3665)
Location Manager - Boiling Springs Chapel

I am a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science – Class of 1996; as a native Texan, I served as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area; later I moved to Pensacola, FL where I continued as a Funeral Director and Embalmer and gained experience with honoring those who served in the military. After several years in Pensacola, I felt it was time to move the Carolinas where I have worked in both North and South Carolina as a Funeral Director and acquired a Real Estate license in both states.  I have two adult children that I love dearly; my church fellowship is with Mountain View Baptist Church in Boiling Springs. I absolutely love reading, working in the yard; visiting Pensacola Beach and letting everyone know that I am a “TEXAN”.

I chose to work with J.F. Floyd Mortuary beginning in April 2021 because I believed in what they stood for as a long time representative of funeral service. As a funeral director, I want families to know my heart is to truly help and encourage them throughout the loss of their family and friends, just as J.F. Floyd Mortuary has done for well over 130 yrs.

Teresa "Teri" Morris (SC FD License #3501)
Location Manager - Greenlawn Chapel/Funeral Director

Teri is a licensed funeral director in both North and South Carolina.  Coming into the industry in 1997 as an Administrative Assistant, she earned her North Carolina Funeral Directors License in September 2003 and her South Carolinas Funeral Directors License in May 2010 after moving to Charleston, SC.

Her tenure as a Funeral Director has taken her from the Blue Ridge mountains in Asheville where she made her home for more than 35 years, to the coast of South Carolina, to the Piedmont area of NC and is finally, currently serving at The J. F. Floyd Mortuary in Spartanburg, SC.

After the death of her son, Aaron, Teri trained to be a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and she also facilitates GriefShare in churches.  Teri believes being a Funeral Director and a Grief Recovery Specialist are the two ministries that God has blessed her with.  “It is such a privilege to journey alongside those who grieve.  So many families, friends and even strangers ministered to me and my family at the time of Aaron’s death that I promised if I were ever presented with an opportunity to serve others in the same way, I would consider it an honor and a blessing to do so.”  It is also my son’s legacy.

As the mother of two additional adult children, Lindsey (married to Xavier) and their three children, Dominique, Jasmine, and Olivier who live in Charlotte, and Seth (married to Kelly) and their three children, Abram, Reynolds, and Landry who all live in Asheville. My life is full of family events, soccer games, family pizza nights and trips to celebrate life at the beach.
