Rosa Mitchell Senn, 92, of Spartanburg, passed away on Monday evening, November 20, 2023. She was born on September 27, 1931, in Edgemoor, SC, a daughter of the late George Franklin Mitchell and Ethel Williams Mitchell. She was married to the late Rev. Conrad Allen Senn.
Rosa retired from Spartanburg School District 6 after teaching for 25 years. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and Erskine College. The wife of a United Methodist Church minister, Rosa was a former Sunday School teacher and used her talent to play the piano by ear in many of the churches they served. She was currently a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her son, Conrad “Rad” Allen Senn II (Christy) of Greer, SC; her daughter, Carolyn Senn Brown (Richie) of Buffalo, SC; her grandsons, Blake Senn (Melissa), Alex Senn (Haylie), Tyler Senn, and Sean Allen Brown; her great-grandchildren, Abby and Landon Senn; her brother, Jimmie Mitchell (Martha Sue); and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Rosa was predeceased by her sisters, Annie Nunnery (Grady), Margaret Nunnery (Thomas, “Tuck”), and Florence Culp (Charles); her brothers, Rev. William Mitchell (Mary), Eugene Mitchell (Jean), Rev. Charles Mitchell (Mary Alice), Laurence Mitchell (Ellen) and John Moffatt Mitchell (‘Minta); a brother-in-law, George “Bud” Senn (Hazel) and a sister-in-law, Minnie Lee Pruitt (Clarence).
The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 pm Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Cameron Treece. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Global Outreach, First Presbyterian Church, 512 Old Mount Holly Road, Stanley, NC 28164.
