Leonard Randolph Orders, Jr., 86, of Spartanburg, died Friday, August 4, 2023, at Eden Terrace. He was born December 9, 1936, in Asheville, NC, a son of the late Leonard Randolph and Mattie Lou Swinnie Orders.  

He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and retired as a credit manager with Reeves Brothers and the Spartanburg Herald Journal. 

A member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, he served as an Elder and a Deacon and was a 24-year member of the Spartanburg Kiwanis where he served as past President and the recipient of the George F. Hixon Fellow award for his significant and generous contributions to the club’s community service mission. 

He is survived by his children, Lou Pascoe (Richard) and Randy Orders (Jane), grandchildren, Grace Graves (Luke), Hudson Orders (Caitlyn), Bowen Orders, Madison Pascoe, and Julia Pascoe, great-grandson, Hampton Graves, two great-granddaughters due in September, and sister, Mary Lou Sherman. 

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, 393 East Main Street, Spartanburg, 29302 conducted by the Rev. Dr. Alan Dyer and Rev. Joanne Hull. Visitation will follow the service in the Perrin room.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Missions, 393 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, 419 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg, 2270 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
