Elsie Aldine Williams Jones, 79, of Spartanburg, entered eternal rest on January 8, 2024. She was born on April 8, 1944, in Coats, NC, a daughter of the late David and Goldie Williams. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James David Jones, Sr. 

Elsie, affectionately known as Deanie, was retired from K-Mart and then from child-caregiving. She loved to garden, cook for others, and watch Duke Blue Devil basketball.  

Survivors include her son, Jimmy, of Cowpens, SC; her daughter, Angie (Dan) of Moore; sister, Marie and brother, Donnie of Coats, NC; along with nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 635 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. John Cox. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
