David Edgar Simanek

Mr. David Edgar Simanek, 90, of Boiling Springs died Friday, July 7, 2023, at Lakewood Assisted Living. He was born on December 16, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Edmund and Florence Hansen Simanek. 

David was a graduate of Michigan State University, a veteran of the US Army and retired from a career in property management.    

Surviving is his wife; Jacqueline Beeler Simanek; his daughters, Heidi Smigocki, Erica Simanek and Kristin Simanek (Mark Richardson); four grandchildren, Kory Smigocki, Kimberly Barkanic (Frank), Catrina Russell and Cleo Russell; one great-granddaughter, Ava Russell-Browning; his step-children, Lea Roberts (Henry) and Jessica Meadows; his step-grandchildren,  Brandon Roberts (Kelly) , Lauren Schaffer(Del), Grace Meadows and Abby Meadows; his step-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Henry Schaffer; and many loving nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Jill Simanek Botos. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, William Simanek, Harry Simanek, and Robert Simanek; and a step-son-in-law, John Meadows.  

A celebration of life gathering will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Lakewood Assisted Living, 3709 Clark Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Patriot Hospice & Palliative Care, 101 Grace Drive, Easley, SC 29640.
