Betty Ruth Copeland Tilton

Betty Ruth Copeland Tilton, 81, of Spartanburg, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Eden Terrace. Betty was born on October 25, 1942, in Pelzer, SC, a daughter of the late Stella Elizabeth Cox Copeland and Richard Grady Copeland. She was married to the late Charles Wilder Tilton, Jr. 

Betty is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Rogers Smith (Stuart) of Spartanburg, and Lydia Kay Combs of Cary, NC; her grandchildren, Ellis and Matthew Smith and Olivia and Samuel Combs; a niece and two nephews. 

Along with her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her sister, Annette Copeland Garrett (Frankie). 

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. A private burial service for the family will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. 

Family will be at the home of Stephanie and Stuart Smith. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church-Spartanburg, Global Missions Fund, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
