Funeral Director/Inventory Control
A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Eddie moved with his family to Spartanburg at the young age of 3 years old. He is a graduate of Spartanburg High School and has worked in the area all of his adult life. Eddie began his career at Floyd's in December 1998 and completed his apprenticeship as a Funeral Director in 2001. Eddie also received his Pre-Need Insurance license in October of 2004. Eddie is an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent where he served as former Vestryman, Lay Reader, and Chalice bearer. He is a member of The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew at the church. He also is a member of the Spartanburg Kiwanis Club. Eddie enjoys spending time gardening, chasing his chocolate Lab "Gladys", riding his Vespa Scooter, Hiking and Mountain Biking and his wife - Regina. Eddie retired in 2018 after 20 years of service to Spartanburg and the surrounding community. He's now taking on the duties of "Mr. Mom"! We wish him well.
Wayne O. Harris
Mr. Harris retired from a full time position as an Assistant Manager at Floyds in April of 2008 but continues to work a part-time schedule that accommodates his golf game. Wayne was born in Rock Hill, SC, and was reared in Sharon, SC. He is a graduate of York High School, received his BA degree from Clemson University, his MA degree from Western Carolina University and his Education Degree from University of South Carolina. Wayne retired from Spartanburg School District Six as an Elementary Principal after 21 years of service. He began his career at The J. F. Floyd Mortuary on a part-time basis in 1974 and received his Funeral Directors license in August 1982. Following his retirement in 1995 he became a full time employee of the firm and an Assistant Manager. Shortly thereafter he received his Pre-Need insurance license in 1996. Wayne is the longtime husband of Pat Harris and they have two adult children, Lisa and Julie and three wonderful grandchildren. He is a member of Saint James United Methodist Church, of Spartanburg, where he currently serves as chairman of the board of the Kindergarten Program, a member of both the South Carolina and National Funeral Directors Association and The Three Pines Country Club where he serves on the Board of Directors. In his spare time he enjoys Golf, Fishing and visiting with his grandchildren
Robin was born in Johnstown, PA and was raised in Buies Creek, NC. She moved to the Spartanburg area in 1985. She has been with Floyd's since 2001. She and her husband Vernon L. "Roy" Price and her son Ryan live just inside the Cherokee County Line. She is a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church, where she can often be found playing the harp during worship services.
She along with her husband Roy on violin and Ryan on oboe often provide entertainment for a variety of events. Robin's duties at Floyd's consists of ordering certified copies of death certificates and notifying families upon their arrival, assists with filing life insurance and Social Security claims, as well as advising families in regards to probate court. She and her family share their home with 2 cats, 4 birds, and 3 fish.
Mrs. Vivian O'Dell
Retired 2015: Aftercare Specialist
Mrs. O'Dell was born in the York County South Carolina town of Clover, and moved to Spartanburg in 1952. She attended Furman University and Converse College. She is a graduate of the National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management for Ladies in Funeral Service. Vivian began her work at Floyd's in 1963. She and her husband William M. "Bill" O'Dell have one daughter, and are members of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Vivian is a active member of the Spartanburg County Republican Women's Club. She received the 2006 Ellen Lanier Republican Woman of the Year Award. She is also a member of he Credit Professionals International. Mrs. O'Dell assists families with business matters, such as processing insurance claims, Veterans Claims for Burial Benefits, Social Security Benefits, assistance with Probate Court procedures, and other matters as they present themselves.
