"We are very honored and fortunate to have been a part of the growth of Spartanburg County, now entering our third century of operation. The J.F. Floyd Mortuary was founded in 1886 upon the highest principles of funeral service. It has always been our pleasure to make everyone welcome and "at home" at Floyd's. During these many years, our policy has been to provide all families who come to us with dedicated and sincere service. We appreciate the people of Spartanburg and the confidence they have placed in us over these many years and pledge to maintain our commitment to service in order to warrant their continuing trust. It continues to be our priviledge to serve the families of Spartanburg."
OUR SERVICE GUARANTEE TO YOU:
If a Family is not satisfied with any part of our service, upon written notification of their dissatisfaction, we will delete the charge for that specific service.
You can schedule an appointment with one of our Advanced Funeral Planners to discuss the benefits and numerous alternatives available when planning ahead. You can do as little as you want and just leave information on file or you can choose to fund your arrangements by selecting an irrevocable or revocable contract. The irrevocable option excludes a funded contract from your assets and could help you qualify one day for government assistance should the need arise. Convenient payment options are available - the choice is always yours.
FUNERAL SERVICE OFFERINGS:
The J.F. Floyd Mortuary serves families of all faiths or beliefs, religious or otherwise. From Traditional to Military, from Contemporary to Non-Religious, our experienced staff can arrange and conduct a service or ceremony that accommodates your wants and needs. We can help you personalize the service when you want to honor and celebrate the life of your loved one.
We work directly with you and your family to learn about your loved one - what made him or her special. The places and things associated with our lives can play an important part in personalizing and honoring a life - we know how to incorporate these into the Visitation and/or the Service. Whether a ceremony is elaborate or simple, funerals can be designed to reflect the life of the deceased which provides comfort to family and friends. A service may reflect one's religious beliefs as a reaffirmation of faith in a life after death. You can also reflect upon the occupation or hobbies of the deceased. A service can be both religious and celebratory. Grief professionals believe that you must first accept and mourn your loss before you can truly celebrate the life. A well designed service will do that for you.
We believe it is a privilege to serve you and will help you design and arrange a service and/or celebration that reflects the life that was lived. We are available to help you whenever that need arises. Its what we do.
GRIEF COUNSELING: Our Grief Counselor, the retired Rev. Joe Dempsey, contacts the Family several weeks after the Service to offer his support and to see how they are dealing with their loss. He provides an experienced shoulder to lean on and can direct those interested in more formal help in the right direction by referring them to local support groups.
Available on this web site under the Grief & Healing tab is an interactive online video featuring Dr. Virginia Simpson and you can also sign up for 365 Days of Grief Support - complimentary to you.
