Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” J. Brewington, 76, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, July 30, 2022. Born August 19, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Frank and Lillie Mae Brewington.

Ronnie worked for Brewington Ambulance Service prior to working for Hammond-Brown-Jennings Furniture Company for 42 years. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Pauline. He enjoyed spending time outdoors whether going for walks or fishing. Ronnie loved his family and friends. He enjoyed meeting new people, was kind with a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Zimmerman Brewington of the home; his beloved dog, Piper; cousin, David Brewington; brother-in-law, Wayne Zimmerman; sisters-in-law, Elaine Zimmerman and Susan Gwinn; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Ronnie is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lillie Brewington; brothers, Thomas Brewington and Boyd Brewington; and sister, Norma Brannon.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119 SC-56, Pauline, SC 29374 conducted by Rev. Kiah Graves and Rev. Ozzie Mabry. Pallbearers will be Wayne Zimmerman, Walt Irick, Noah Gwinn, Roman Irick, Jeremy Gwinn, and David Brewington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, P.O. BOX 220, Pauline, SC 29374.
