Recha Darylann Gilbert of Spartanburg, SC passed away September 27th, 2022, at the age of 66 from ongoing health complications.

She was born on May 29th, 1956, in Tryon, NC to Gerald Gilbert and Recha “Ricky” S. Cantrell. After obtaining an associate degree from Spartanburg Methodist College, she married Thomas W. Veverka and together they had one daughter, Amanda.

Known to many as simply “Dee” and to her grandchildren as “Grandee”, Darylann was known for her energy, smile, love of nature, and earnest dedication to her friends and family. She loved the mountains, hiking, and generally anything to do with nature. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with friends, valuing helping others in her free time. Over the years, she assisted with youth groups, soup kitchens, and mission trips, as her faith was a priority in her life. Dee’s bible could always be found close by as the key for continually learning and growing in her faith.

She is survived by her former husband Thomas Veverka, daughter Amanda Inman, her beloved grandchildren, Daisly and Arden Inman, and her fiancé Tom Bishop, along with many dear friends and extended family. Darylann is predeceased by her father Gerald Gilbert, mother Recha Stare Cantrell, and brother Terrill Bishop.
