Elizabeth Orena Gregg Buchanan, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 15, 1935 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Roy Gregg and Evie Pressley Gregg. She was predeceased by her husband, Verl Lea Buchanan on July 22, 2003.
A graduate of Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Buchanan was a retired Registered Nurse. She was a member of Drayton Baptist Church and was an organist and pianist at various churches throughout her career. After retiring as Organist for Drayton Baptist, she continued to send cards to the sick until she was no longer able.
She is survived by her daughter, Rev. Dr. Tina Buchanan Woody and son-in-law, Alfort Woody of Spartanburg, SC and her loyal companion, Babi. Also, she is survived by her brothers, Paul Gregg (Faye) of Cayce, SC, Rev. Dr. Troy Gregg (Linda) of Chesnee, SC, and Rev. Dr. Ralph Gregg (Karen) of Taylors, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Hazel Neighbors (Louie) and Martha Barnette (Bud).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. David Frost. The family will be available at graveside after the service.
