Muriel "Merle" Bryant

Muriel Elizabeth Snapp O’Dell Bryant, 83, of Pacolet, SC died Friday, April 23, 2021, at White Oak North Grove. Born August 21, 1937 in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alderson and Maude England Snapp and widow of Samuel Edward Bryant.

Mrs. Bryant was a former child care assistant at Kiddie Koral in Pacolet and senior adults at Pacolet Care Center.  Merle was a God fearing woman, a selfless servant of others whose home was open to anyone in need, a lover of all animals making pets of a wild rabbit and two Banty Roosters and she made the best chocolate pie. She was a member of Tate Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda White (Robert) of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Darrell O’Dell (Sandy); Kevin O’Dell (Linda) all of Pauline, SC and Tim O’Dell (Tammy) of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Annette Snapp of Downey, CA; step-sons, Lonnie Bryant (Jo) of Greenville, SC, Rev. Jerry Bryant (Marlene) of York, SC and Chris Bryant of Gaffney, SC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children’s father, Bobby H. O’Dell; sister, Linda Snapp and brothers, Robert Snapp, Avery Snapp, and Palmer Snapp.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 26, 2021, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by The Rev. Dennis Tessnier and The Rev. Randall Burgess. Visitation will follow the service in Floyd’s Pacolet Chapel. Masks and social distancing are required.
