Maggie Anthony

Maggie Ruth Wall Anthony, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 7, 2022. She was born on May 9, 1926 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Joe Cletus and Madge Ezell Wall. She was the wife of the late Harry Anthony for 53 years and was a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church.

“Ms. Maggie”, as she was known to many, loved and cherished her family most of all. She also enjoyed being a caregiver to many family members and friends. She especially loved cooking for her family and will truly be missed.

Ms. Maggie was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Anthony and four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her two daughters, Janet Winstead (Roger) and Susan Ellison (Barry); her son, Bruce Anthony (Suzanne); her granddaughters, Angela Powell (Jordan) and Jennifer Winstead, her grandsons, Heith Anthony and  Ryan Anthony (Sarah); her three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Powell, Rhett Anthony and Wade Anthony; her sister-in-law, Mary A. Anders and her brother-in-law, James C. Anthony.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Gary Grogan. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Valley Falls Terrace and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their love and care for Ms. Maggie.
