Kitty Wilson died very peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 just a few days shy of her 102nd birthday. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of Dr. John Harvey and Kathryn Steinhilber McCutcheon. Kitty was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Paul J. Wilson Jr., sister Elizabeth Ullberg, and brother Dr. John H. McCutcheon Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Wilson Cannon of Savannah, Georgia and Barbara Wilson Smith of Spartanburg, a son, Paul J. Wilson III of Mooresville, North Carolina, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Kitty graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Paul and Kitty moved to Spartanburg, SC in 1958. Paul served as Risk Manager and in Real Estate at Milliken and Company for many years, and after raising her children, Kitty taught science for sixteen years at junior high schools in Spartanburg District 7. Kitty was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a humble servant of the Lord for her entire life. In recognition of her long-term service and devotion to the church and her savior Jesus Christ, the Presbyterian Women, Presbyterian Church U.S.A., presented Kitty with the prestigious Honorary Life Membership in 1995. In addition to faithfully serving her church, Kitty had many other interests, including yard work, sewing and knitting, line dancing, golf at the Spartanburg Country Club, playing the game of bridge with friends, cooking, and just taking long walks around her neighborhood. Kitty also enjoyed traveling to her Litchfield Beach S.C. and Blowing Rock N.C. condominiums with family and friends.
