Joyce (Dawson) Arthur

Joyce D. Arthur loved her family, friends, and flowers. She passed peacefully into heaven’s garden on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. 

A sweet soul with THE sweetest voice, she was an angel among us. Married for 60 years to her high school sweetheart she leaves behind a broken-hearted Terry L. Arthur. She was loved beyond words and anyone who knew her would agree.

Joyce was “Mom” to Chris Arthur (wife Pamela) and “Grandma” to Hayden Arthur and Mason Arthur. 

She retired from Wofford College as a librarian after serving 49 years. She was a member of Cannon’s Campground United Methodist Church. Yes, she was a devoted wife, employee, and woman.

She was a rare flower in the garden of life, one that bloomed year-round. She will be planted in CC UMC Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Cannon’s Campground United Methodist Church, 3450 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., at the church.
