Jerry Crocker, Sr.

Jerry L. Crocker, Sr., 72, of Converse, SC passed away July 4, 2021. Jerry was born on November 27, 1948 with his twin Terry to their parents, the late Charlie and Elizabeth Finch Crocker. Jerry was predeceased by his loving wife, Carolyn Poole Crocker.

A Spartanburg County native, Jerry was of the Baptist faith and over the years held memberships at Clifton First Baptist, Converse Baptist, and most recently at Mt. Ararat Baptist.

With distinction, Jerry served his community for over 40 years as a member of the Converse Area Fire Department. He held many leadership positions that include Assistant Chief, Chief and Fire Commissioner. Jerry retired from S&D coffee in 2013.

Survivors include his son Lee Crocker and his wife Nancy, grandson Nicholas Crocker and his wife Liesel, granddaughter Emily Crocker, and great grandsons Charlie Crocker and Henry Crocker. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Terry Crocker and Kenneth Crocker.

The family would like to recognize and thank his special friend and caregiver Donna Turner, as well as the doctors and nurses of the 5th Floor Heart Center at Spartanburg Medical Center, the skilled nursing team at Pacifica Skylyn, and everyone at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street, Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by The Reverend Eddie Willis. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. Serving as Pallbearers will be members of The Converse Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry requested that donations be made to the Converse Area Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 160, Converse, SC 29329.
