Floyd Bright

Floyd Leonard Bright, Sr., 69, of Lyman, died Friday, January 8, 2021, at his residence. He was born November 3, 1951 in Spartanburg, a son of the late Edward H. and Juanita Sarah Floyd Bright. Floyd was retired from H. H. Gregg Appliance Center. He also worked at Blue Ridge Enterprises and was a restaurant manager for Quincy's. Floyd was a former police officer with the City of Spartanburg and was a Mason. A member of Lyman United Methodist Church, he enjoyed serving his community along with his Lyman United Methodist Church buddies. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. Mr. Bright is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marilynn Good Bright; a daughter, Heather Raushenberger (Tory) of Greenville; sons, Christopher Bright and Chip Bright (Dana), all of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Taylor, Emma, Hayden, Brantley, Tyler, Kylee and Talon; a brother, Don Bright (Margaret) of Spartanburg; a nephew, Tony Crane; and a brother-in-law, James Good. Floyd was predeceased by a grandson, Henry Grayson. Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Walter Chantwell and the Rev. Brian Gilmer. Family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. The family asks that friends and family wear masks and observe social distancing per the Covid-19 precautions. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lyman United Methodist Church, PO Drawer 190, Lyman, SC 29365. The family is at the home.
