Claudia Bright

Claudia Bright, 74, of Chesnee, SC, died Monday, October 4, 2021 at her home. Born October 12, 1946 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Wendell and Mary Alice Painter Corn.  She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Corn Humphries as well as by her first husband, Julius Bernard “Bernie” Thomas.

Mrs. Bright earned her master’s degree from University of South Carolina. Claudia was a retired media specialist for ZL Madden Elementary School and the McCarthy Teszler School. Claudia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boiling Springs.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie H. Bright, son, Kelly Thomas (Jeanne) of Spartanburg, SC, and their children, Ashley, Emily, Ryan, and Natalie, her daughters, Wendy Annas (Kiernan) of American Fork, UT, and their children, Ethan, Isaac, and Eliot, and Rebecca Thomas of Highland, UT, and her children, Juliet and Helena, stepdaughter, Amanda Blanton (Brian) of Gaffney, SC, and their children, Lawson and Grayson, and stepson, Simon Bright of Blacksburg, SC.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boiling Springs, 3691 Clark Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by Bishop Jared Andersen and presiding President Dale Kitchen. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
