Bobby Vickery

June 28, 1940 — April 27, 2021

Bobby Joe Vickery, 80, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his home. Born June 28, 1940, in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late Kathleen Floyd and Robert Buford Vickery.

Bobby was in the pipeline business for many years and was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church. He spent much time on the farm, finding much joy outside and always saw the beauty of Christ in the time he spent on the farm. Bobby’s sense of humor, love for his family, and love for Christ will be sweetly cherished by many. His greatest love was Christ, his faith and trust in God will be sweetly remembered. Bobby’s unwavering faith and trust in God gives us hope that he is sitting in the presence of Jesus. “Pa” ran an incredible race and on April 27th, he won!

Bobby was a wonderful and loving husband of 52 years to his wife Mary Watts Vickery. He was a nurturing father to Marshelle Owens (Roger) of Pauline, SC, Patrick Floyd of Glenn Springs, SC, Ronnie Vickery (Marie) of Roebuck, SC, and Donnie Vickery of Stone Station, SC; beloved grandfather to seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by sisters, Emily Hazel Rhodes (Jack) of Roebuck, SC and Shirley Rainey (Hubert) of Greenville, SC.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 30, 2021 in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119  Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Tim Williams.
