Betty Mullinax

September 19, 1931 — March 14, 2023

Betty Tiner Mullinax of Spartanburg, SC (Betty Lou to family), 91, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, after an extended battle with dementia. She was a daughter of the late Eugene E. Tiner and Minnie Harmon Tiner of Spartanburg, whom she loved dearly.

Betty was a stay-at-home wife and mom while her children were growing up, but later went to work at Laurel Medical and then Edgewood Cardiology in Greenville, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Betty was of the Baptist faith, and always made finding a good church her top priority wherever she moved. She has now found her permanent home.

Betty was predeceased by her older sister, Mary Earline Martin, and by her former husband but steadfast companion (in their later years), Wilson “Geech” Mullinax.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela M. Fogle (Randy) of St. Matthews, SC; her son, Wilson A. “Rusty” Mullinax, Jr. of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Whitney F. Davis, and Chelsea F. Knott; four great-grandchildren; and her younger sister and best friend in her last years, Shirley Culbreth of Spartanburg.

A special thank you goes out to all the wonderful people at Eden Terrace of Spartanburg who cared for “Miss Betty” during the ups and downs of the last 21 months of her life, and to Interim Hospice for their support and compassion.

Her cryptside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at Remembrance Chapel in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29609.
