Wilma Earline Cooper Smith, 89, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Brushy Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Greer, SC. Born August 4, 1929, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Murphy Cooper and Lena Pearson Cooper and widow of Horace Richard Smith. Mrs. Smith loved her Lord. She was devoted to her family, friends, and considered the best cook ever! She retired from Abbott Laboratories after 20 years of service. Survivors include her children, Sandra Blackwell and Kenneth Smith of the home; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Cooper Jones of Morristown, TN; niece, Laurie Cox of Pacolet, SC; nephew, Jonathan Jones of Lancaster, SC; and a large number of great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Michael; a grandson, Jeffrey; and two infant daughters. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2018, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
