William J Kearney of Enoree, South Carolina passed away peacefully at his home on December 22, 2025. He was 60 years old.
Bill was named after his maternal Grandfather William J McWilliams of Hiawatha, Kansas and grew up in Ellington, Connecticut. He moved to South Carolina in 1995. He was a deeply intellectual man, working as a machinist for 40 years. He was currently a lead CNC Programmer at Cox Sales in Roebuck, South Carolina for about twelve years. He loved his work and the challenges it brought; Bill loved to puzzle things out. He had an awkwardness about him; but you always knew where you stood with him. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, watching movies, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Chico and Tori, at his home.
Being a bit of a loner, Bill had a small circle of friends and co-workers. He was a frequent customer, like every day, at the Coco Loco Mexican Restaurant in Roebuck, South Carolina and attended church most Sundays led by Archbishop Demetrius. The people at these establishments were very important to him, as was his family.
Bill leaves behind two younger sisters-- Wendie Pacheco of Saluda, North Carolina and her husband, Rich and Dalene Twarosch of Savannah, Georgia and her husband, Doug. Two nieces-- Taylor Burke of Duncan, South Carolina, her husband, Owen, and their two children, Bill's great niece and nephew Lyra, age 5, and Landon, age 2, and Sydne Twarosch-Stock of Savannah, Georgia and her husband, Zach and his step-Dad Dale Ryder, age 93, of McIndoe Falls, Vermont.
Bill was predeceased by his older brother, Kevin Kearney of Storrs, Connecticut, his Mom, Sandi Ryder of Port Orange, Florida, his documented father, Pete Kearney of Winsted, Connecticut, and his biological Dad, Jack Colton of Port Orange, Florida.
Bill made an impression on all who knew him. The lack of his presence has created a void that will never be filled. He will be greatly missed.
If you feel compelled to make a donation in his name somewhere, choose an animal shelter or organization that means something to you-- that would honor him the most. Because his love of animals, especially dogs, was the essence that made Bill, Bill.
