William Harvey Hoffman

William Harvey Hoffman, 95, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

William was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania the son of the late Edwin Jacob Mantel and the late Mary Elizabeth Mantel Hoffman. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years: Mrs. Stella Ann Parris Hoffman. William had a very successful career in the United States Army. William graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He then earned his way to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After 35 years of honorable service to his country, He retired. His patriotic heart never retired, and his love of country never wavered.

William leaves behind to cherish his many memories his two sons: Burt Hoffman and Tom Hoffman; a daughter: Debra Orders (Ralph); his grandchildren: Tash Orders Schramer, Lindsey Orders Cox, and Austin Macheledt; One precious great grandchild: Liam Macheledt.

The family will receive friends between 12:00 – 1:00 Pm on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral service to honor his life will start at 1:00 PM after the visitation with Rev. Andy Case officiating. The entombment will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens – Heritage Chapel with full military honors.

Another true American Soldier passes away, but his memories live on in the hearts of everyone.
