William Barnes

William Hubert Barnes, 80, of Pauline, SC, died Monday, February 3, 2020. Born October 24, 1939, in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was the son of the late William Newton Barnes and Beatrice Datie Gilbert Barnes. He served in the United States Air Force, graduated from the University of South Carolina and retired as an industrial maintenance mechanic. Survivors include his sons, Kevin M. Barnes of Woodruff, SC and Michael C. Barnes of Durham, NC; plus his sister, Jessica B. Barnes of Pauline, SC. He was passionate about gardening, education, mechanics, electronics, and his grandson, Newton Barnes-Tanaka. A private graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
