Wayne Wehofer Sr.

Wayne Wehofer, Sr., 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. He was born June 27, 1930 in Chicago, IL. Mr. Wehofer, Sr. was a veteran of the U.S. Army - Korean War. Wayne was a member of the V.F.W. and volunteered at the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen. He was retired from Flowers Baking Company. Survivors include his daughter, Diana Boswell (Eric) of Shelby, NC; Wayne Wehofer, Jr. (Robin) of Spartanburg, SC; Kurt Wehofer (Marie) of Boiling Springs, SC; daughter-in-law, Robin Wehofer of Woodstock, GA; four granddaughters, Jessica, Erica, Shelby, and Faith; two great grandsons; sister, Audrey and brother, Dwight; beloved dog, Paco; and special friend of the family, Sandy Abbott-Powell. He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbaranne Sweet Wehofer and son, Carl Wehofer. A Memorial service will be 3:30 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 S Pine St, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. Mike Shackelford. Visitation will follow at the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen, 136 South Forest Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306 or to St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 S Pine St, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
