Wayne Bradley, 87, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg. He was the son of the late Irvin Alec Bradley and the late Rilla Padgett Bradley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Heyward Calvert; and four siblings, Dawn Going, Gene Bradley, Butch Bradley, and Elsie (Sister) Bradley.
Wayne proudly served his country for 22 years as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wofford College and enjoyed a successful career as an accountant with Biltmore Dairy before retiring. Following retirement, he continued serving others by preparing taxes with H&R Block.
Freemasonry was a significant part of Wayne's life. He was a dedicated member of Lone Oak Lodge No. 372 and was raised to the degree of Master Mason on July 26, 1973. He served as Master of the Lodge from 1977 until 1994. In 2000, he became Secretary of the Lodge, a position he faithfully held for six years. From 2012 to 2017, he served as an MSA Committeeman. Wayne was also a Master Lecturer in all three Masonic degrees.
He joined the Scottish Rite in 1982 and received the KCCH in 2021. In 2023, he became the Venerable Master of the Piedmont Lodge of Perfection, continuing a lifetime of dedicated service to the fraternity he loved.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda Bradley; his son, Michael Calvert and wife, Kristy; two grandchildren, Mason and Liam Calvert; and his sisters, Nancy Gibson, Sissy Bradley, Pat Horton, and Beverly Hysmith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a friend to many.
Most importantly, Wayne was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. He lived out his faith through his love for his family, his community, and everyone he had the opportunity to help.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, South Carolina 29316. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Rev. Kenneth Cash, with Masonic rites observed. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, where full military honors will be rendered.
Wayne's love, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered for years to come in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to the care of Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
