Walter Bernard Grant, 97, of Moore, SC, passed away on Saturday morning, September 19, 2026. Walter was born on January 2, 1929, in Spartanburg County, SC; a son of the late Gus and Mary Fowler Grant. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Farmer Grant, in 2021.

Walt was the oldest attending member of Roebuck Baptist Church and he was a faithful member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He retired from Mullikin Vault Company after 27 years of service, then worked as an Ambassador for The J. F. Floyd Mortuary for another 20 years.

A very proud American veteran, Walt proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

Surviving is his daughter, Donna Grant Moore (Dean) of Moore, SC; his son, Mark Steven Grant (Audrien) of Roebuck, SC; four grandchildren, Kristen, Katie, Josh, and Mark; four great-grandchildren, Micah, Madison, Landon and Gavin; one great-great-granddaughter, Selah; a special niece, Carolyn Wright; and many other nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Along with his wife and parents, Walt was predeceased by his siblings, Fairy, Gustie, Gladys, Maggie and Albert.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Military Honors will be rendered by the US Army Honors Team.

The family is at the home of Donna and Dean Moore in Moore, SC.
