Walter Doggett Jr.

Walter Bush Doggett Jr., 74, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at his home. Born December 31, 1943, in Boiling Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Bush Doggett Sr. and Ruby Helena Seay Page. Mr. Doggett was a member of Croft Baptist Church, retired from Winn-Dixie after 40 years of service, and was Co-op president for 15 years. He coached Little League through Pony League and the boys he coached still call him Mr. Doggett. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carole Harris Doggett; children, Ann Doggett Whitener (Mark) of Roebuck, SC, Walter Bush Doggett III (Joanne Frantz) of Baltimore, MD, and George Doggett of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Teighlor Weber (Luke) of Cowpens, SC; great-grandson, Tillman Weber; and step-brothers, Ken Page (Suzanne) of Spartanburg, SC and Ellis Page Jr. (Betty) of Birmingham, AL. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 PM Friday, July 27, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Croft Baptist Church by The Rev. Dr. Brian Russell Horton and The Rev. Michael Bradley. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
