Victoria Gray

Ella Victoria “Vickie” Brockman Gray, of Moore, died peacefully at home on Monday, April 17, 2023.  Born in Woodruff, SC, on March 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Toy and Lizzie Mae (Smith) Brockman.  She was married on July 8, 1942 to the late Paul Allen Gray.  She is survived by their two sons, Paul Alan Gray Jr. (Rebekah) of Roebuck and John Ray (Joy) Gray of Lexington; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary C. Gray of Rock Hill and five grandchildren, Seann G. (James) Tzouvelekas, Letitia (Jeff) Uyak, Josh (Danielle) Gray, Lee G. (Daniel) Healy, and Ryan (Kendra) Gray.  She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and three nieces and one nephew.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard Curtis Gray; brothers, John Toy (Frances) Brockman and Leonard Newton Brockman; a sister, Mary Elizabeth B. (Jack) Clary.

After a long and productive life, she is also survived by many friends, especially those at Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was an active and beloved member for over 70 years.  She lived daily with her Lord, and cherished her church family, attending worship services up until a few months before her death.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, 2023, 2:00-2:45PM at Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29306.  A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM conducted by The Rev. Brad Gray and The Rev. Meghan Gray.  Burial will be at a later date.

The family wishes to thank her excellent caregivers, Nancy Garner, Linda Lamb, Loving Angels Private Care with Shawanda Brown, Tysheika Meadors, and Fukayna Watkins.  Special appreciation is also given to Agape Hospice for their skilled and compassionate attention.
