Vera Gunter

Vera F. Gunter, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Brookdale Skylyn-Spartanburg. Born May 24, 1925, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Leander and Lena Pettit Foster and widow of Roy E. Gunter. Mrs. Gunter was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and retired proofreader for the Spartanburg Herald-Journal newspaper. Surviving are her daughter, Joy Gunter of Port Richey, FL; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Horianopoulos. A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
