Veneranda Caridad Bonachea Martinez
Veneranda Caridad Bonachea Martinez, 95, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home following an illness with Alzheimer’s. She was born on November 24, 1926, in Camaguey, Cuba to Alejo and Candelario Hernandez Bonachea.
Although she did work in the business field for years, she was mainly a homemaker and raised four kids. She was a beloved mother and was dearly loved by everyone who met her. Veneranda was a very memorable lady with a wonderful sense of humor. She was fiercely proud of being a naturalized American citizen.
Survivors include her children, Marilyn Saucedo (Ray) of Riverside, CA, Ramon Martinez, Jr (Angie) of Woodruff, and Raquel Martinez of Spartanburg; daughter-in-law, Cathy Martinez of Spartanburg; grandchildren, David Brown (Mikala), Craig Brown (Katie O’Neil), Matthew Saucedo (Amity), Rebecca Saucedo, Jennie Frank (Nicholas), and Taylor Martinez (Alexandria); great-grandchildren, Peighton Simmons, Ellie Frank, Coleman Frank, Elouise Martinez, Kaylee Piper, Nia Renich, Raymond Brown, Caden Saucedo, Emerson Saucedo, and Quinn Saucedo; brother, Gabino Cendan (Nancy) of Havana, Cuba; and nephew, Rodolfo Molina (Miriam) of Miami, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Ramon Martinez, and son, Miguel Angel Martinez.
