Valarie Hodge Ford, 87, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Born on October 9, 1938, in Florence, South Carolina, Valarie was the daughter of the late Presley Hodge and Bessie Mcllom Hodge.

Valarie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg. She was a gifted artist who found great joy in painting. She also had a deep love for gardening and enjoyed growing all kinds of plants and flowers. Her gentle spirit, creative heart, and unwavering faith were evident to all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted son, Tim Ford and his wife, Susan; her beloved grandson, Michael Ford; her sister, Rosie Bullard; and many cherished extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Valarie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Ford and son Ken Ford.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel. A private graveside was held at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
