Thomas "Willie" Franklin Huggins

June 15, 1944 — May 16, 2025

Inman, SC

Willie Huggins of Inman, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on May 16, 2025.

Born in Whiteville, NC, Willie was the youngest son of the late Willard & Opal Huggins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Huggins.

Willie is survived by his wife, Sandy Huggins, sister Peggy Norosky, daughters Cathy Larose (Marcus), and Sarah Stephens (Kellet), Grandchildren Camille Stephens Pappas (Michael), Georgia Allison Buice (Hunter), Jordan Larose, Willie Larose, Emma Stephens, and Great Granddaughter Allison Buice.

Willie earned his B.S. in Math at Campbell University and had a distinguished career in textiles with Milliken and later as a business owner.

He served honorably in the United States Marine Reserves.

Willie had many interests over the years, but his favorite was to make people laugh. He had an extremely witty sense of humor and was an avid joke and storyteller. He also loved to dance and was part of the group that created the “Myrtle Beach Shag”. He always found the time to be with his family, traveled on multiple family beach trips and loved to travel the world with Sandy. He also enjoyed cooking on the grill and made the best “Willieque” you have ever tasted!

Despite the challenges of his health, Willie’s sharp mind, humor and generous spirit remained, sharing moments with family and his buddies at the Cigar Shop as well as many close friends.

Willie was a devout Christian and lived by the Serenity Prayer. “God, grant me the wisdom to change the things I can, accept the things I can’t, and the wisdom to know the difference”
