Thomas "Tommy" Andrew Genoble, 86, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Seneca, South Carolina. Born on September 7, 1939, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ernest Eugene Genoble and Pearl Lee Genoble.
Tommy was a retired fireman for the City of Spartanburg, a career he embraced with pride. He formed great friendships with his fellow firemen, many who became like family to him. Beyond his professional life, Tommy was a true people person, known for his great sense of humor and infectious laughter that brightened everyone's day. He was also a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church.
An avid fan of NASCAR, Tommy's enthusiasm for racing was well known among his friends and family. He had a passion for automobiles and especially loved Corvettes. He had many over the years and even a few Mustangs. Tommy also enjoyed watching sports and supporting local teams. After relocating to Seneca, he took a special interest in supporting the Clemson Tigers.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Betty W. Genoble, who stood steadfast by his side. He also leaves behind his sisters, Jean Bobo and Patricia Williams, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and an extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Genoble, who passed away in 1995. He is also predeceased by his sister, Betty Koon; brothers-in-law, Bill Koon, George Bobo, and Jerry Williams; and his devoted canine companion, Penny.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
A Funeral Service will follow immediately after at 3:30 PM, Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel followed by burial in Greenlawn Memorial Garden, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Schuyler Peterson.
Thomas "Tommy" Andrew Genoble’s life was a testament to service, laughter, and devotion to those he loved.
