Thelma Brewington Noblitt

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Thelma Brewington Noblitt, who departed this life peacefully at RoseCrest Skilled Nursing Facility on June 14, 2026. Born on April 25, 1935, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Thelma graced this world with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith for 91 wonderful years.

Thelma was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Clarence and Millie Brewington, her cherished husband, Elbert "Bill" Noblitt, with whom she shared a remarkable 73 years of marriage, and her six treasured siblings—three older sisters and three older brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicky Noblitt Toney; grandchildren, Brayden Grahan Watkins (Toni), Kylee Toney Young (Benjamin), Kathryn Delane Toney (Louis Porter), Caroline Mackenzie Rollins (Darby) and Landon Andrew Toney; and great-grandchildren, Zander and Taryn Watkins, Liam and Elliott Porter, and Laila, Lilly and Lane Rollins.

A dedicated professional, Thelma spent over three decades working in the textile industry, specializing in quality control and cloth inspection. Her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to excellence were hallmarks of her career.

As a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC, she found great joy and fulfillment in singing with the choir and serving her church family. Her deep and abiding Christian faith was a source of strength and guidance throughout her life, and she lived each day with a heart full of love for the Lord.

Thelma’s home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality. Renowned for her culinary prowess, she delighted in sharing real home-cooked meals with family and friends. Her recipes, passed down through generations, filled kitchens with the comforting aroma of love and tradition.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Thelma was known and loved for her empathetic nature, always ready to lend a listening ear or helping hand. Her genuine concern for the well-being of others was a testament to her selfless spirit and unwavering belief in the power of compassion.

Thelma's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at RoseCrest for the love and care they gave to her during her stay there. The family, also, wishes to express sincere appreciation to Hospice of Spartanburg for their compassionate care and support during her final days. Your kindness brought great comfort to Thelma and her family.
