Susan W. Mabry, beloved mother, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of 70.
Born on February 26, 1956, in Columbus Georgia, Susan lived a life filled with love, service, laughter, and faith. Susan was a wonderful and devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her family.
She loved her two sons, Jeremy, Jonathan and daughter Laura deeply and took great pride in the lives they built. Her love only grew stronger with the arrival of her grandchildren, Kameron, McKenzie, Logan, and Charlotte who meant the world to her. She cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying their presence. Her family was truly her heart.
Susan also had a deep love for animals and found happiness in the simple beauty of nature. She especially enjoyed her time working in the garden center at Lowe's, where she combined her passion for customer service with her gift for connecting with others. She especially loved the customers who brought their dogs into the store. She would light up with joy, happily taking pictures of them and always keeping treats on hand to spoil them. She was known by coworkers and customers alike for her kindness, helpful spirit, and warm smile.
Susan was a giving person who truly never met a stranger. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her genuine care for others left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Whether you knew her for years or only a short time, Susan made you feel like family.
She is survived by her loving children, Jeremy (Linda), Laura, Jonathan, and her cherished grandchildren, Kameron, McKenzie, Logan, Charlotte, a sister, Sarah Whitlock, and many friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Whitlock, mother, Leatrice Whitlock, and sister Sherry Dushane.
A receiving of friends will be held on Thursday, April 30 from 5 pm - 7pm at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St. Spartanburg, SC.
Susan’s kindness, love, and beautiful spirit will live on through her family and in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
