Steven Hugh Brown, 73 passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, peacefully at his home. Steve was born on May 29, 1951, in Cowpens, South Carolina to the late Loren & Kathleen Brown. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by his family and friends.
For more than 20 years, Steve worked at Spartanburg Medical Center as a transportation supervisor, where he was respected and valued for his hard work and commitment. His professional achievements were paralleled by personal passions, as Steve found joy in selling at flea markets, bottle collecting, antiquing, working on cars, and exercising his skills as an auctioneer. These interests not only brought him happiness but also allowed him to connect with many members of the community. Steve was profoundly proud of his marriage to his beloved wife, Brenda P. Brown, which lasted for 34 wonderful years. This union exemplified the love and commitment he demonstrated throughout his life. Steve was also a member of Clifton 2nd Baptist Church for several years.
Steve is survived by his loving wife; Brenda P. Brown ; 2 sons; Jody Lee Brown (Ginger) and Jason Hugh Brown (Angela); 6 grandchildren; Elizabeth Robertson, Brandon Brown (Kristin), Sara Henderson (Ethan), Emilee Brown, Lucas Brown, and Angel Brown; 7 great- grandchildren; Evee Cannon, Riley Cannon, Savannah Cannon, Leia Robertson, Ellie Pittman, Easton Brown, and Lily Brown; a sister in law; Connie Brown; and all of his friends at the Chesnee Boneyard. Steven was preceded in death by his father; Loren Hugh Brown, his mother; Kathleen Emory Brown; his brother, Tony Wayne Brown; a niece; Jamie Browder; and a nephew Robbie Brown.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
As we remember Steve Hugh Brown, let us celebrate a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and worked diligently to support his family and community. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
