Sophia Fay Worley went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1937, in Eagle Point to the late William Bert Strand and Mabel Wearth Turner. She often treasured memories of growing up on a ranch in Oregon.

Sophia proudly served her country in the United States Navy as an air traffic controller and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of her honorable service. Following her military career, she was employed with Custom Dies for more than 30 years. She was also a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.

Sophia was a woman of remarkable strength, perseverance, and devotion to her family. After the loss of both of her husbands, Jesse B. Willis and Robert L. Worley, she lovingly raised seven children with unwavering determination and grace. She enjoyed playing softball well into her sixties and she enjoyed the outdoors.

She is survived by her children Cindy Willis (Jeff), T.J. Willis (Lori), Sharon Glaze (Huck), Ronnie Worley (Tiffany), James Worley (Ann), and William Worley; as well as her grandchildren: Dustin Willis, Connor Hanks, Jake Willis, Zack Willis, Hailey Belcher, Aaron Turman, Reilly Glaze, Zach Worley, Christian Worley and Mikayla Guy; and eight great-grandchildren, and many extended family members who will cherish her memory always. She was predeceased by her son, Robert L Worley Jr.

The family will receive friends between 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel; 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A private graveside will follow the visitation.
