Shirley Floyd

Shirley Sherbert Floyd, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 6, 1937 in Roebuck, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Irwin and Eunice Gambrell Sherbert.

A beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt. Shirley served her community by volunteering her time with Mobile Meals. She enjoyed music, cooking, cross stitch.

Shirley was a graduate of Roebuck High School and attended Converse College. A member of Southside Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Joy Sunday School class.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Thomas Marion Floyd, Jr.; her grandchildren, John Rhys and Georgia; her daughter-in-law, Sarah Patton Floyd of Dallas, TX; her sister, Gayle Helderman (Wilbur) of Moore, SC; sister-in-law, Sandra DeBruhl of Ocala, FL; her niece, Donna Fazzone (Paul) of Moore, SC; and three stepchildren. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sons, James Phillip Morgan and Thomas Patrick Floyd; her brother, William Sherbert, Jr., and sister-in-law, Barbara Farr.

A Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
