Shirley Depaolis

Shirley Ann Schibley DePaolis, 87, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Summit Hills. Born January 12, 1936, in Geneva, New York, she was a daughter of the late Ross John and Rose Marie Perry Schibley. She was the youngest of two children and is survived by her brother, John Schibley of Geneva, New York.

Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Theodore DePaolis on August 11, 1956. During their 67 years of marriage, being a Navy family, they moved many times and lived in New York, Maine, California, Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina.

Shirley was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, The Communication Works of American and The American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her career with Verizon, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, cooking and traveling.

Along with her brother, John F. Schibley, Shirley is survived by her husband, Ted DePaolis; their daughters, Shelley DePaolis and Pam Mundey (Paul), all of Moore, SC; granddaughters, Freda Flohr and Mallory Allen (E.J.); grandsons, Ian DePaolis and Sean Mundey (Emily); great grandsons, Max Allen and Parker Mundey; along with many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.She was predeceased by her son, Dean Joseph DePaolis.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29307, with visitation following service.
