Shirley Louise Brackins, age 86, of Pacolet, South Carolina, entered her heavenly home March 13, 2026, from White Oak Rehab, North Grove, Spartanburg, SC.
Surviving is a son, Wayne Brackins (Melanie), and a grandson, James Kelley, all of Pacolet. Shirley leaves behind two sisters, Katherine Blackwell (Paul), and Clara Mae Rochester, a brother-in-law, Tommy Brackins. She is survived by cousins and special nieces and nephews. She was the widow of James "Bill" Dennis Brackins. She was the beloved daughter of the late Walter Lee and Mae Lee.
Shirley graduated from Pacolet High School and soon began working with Spartanburg School District 3, retiring after 46 years. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church Pacolet where she enjoyed serving as Secretary as well as other responsibilities. Her family experienced her unconditional love and faithfulness to the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and caring for her pet, Mandy. Shirley will be remembered by her family and friends for helping others and for her wonderful baking.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Pacolet, 310 W. Main St., Pacolet, SC 29372. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church Pacolet. A private burial will be held in First Baptist Church of Pacolet Cemetery. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Sparks.
Pallbearers will be, Brian Blackwell, Aaron White, Paul Stultz, Ray Rochester, Jason Rochester, and Jason Reekie.
The family would like to recognize caregivers, Cheryl Brown, Vickie Rapaldi, Kenyatta Moore, Shinaya Epps, Shinika Sullivan, April Williams, Antonia Toledo, Angela Werts, Jacqueline Mead. Many thanks to each of you for your kindness in caring for Shirley.
