Sherri Marie Lee, 59, of Rutherfordton and Asheville, NC, passed away in her sleep on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Born on August 2, 1964 to Sandra Harrison, nee Eubanks, and Robert Harrison, in Spartanburg, SC, Sherri spent her early years in Spartanburg before the family relocated to Lyman, SC, where she grew up. As an adolescent, Sherri showcased her musical talent as a flutist, contributing to the band at JF Byrnes High School. She furthered her education at Spartanburg Methodist College before marrying and settling in Indiana during the '80s, where she had her three children.
Sherri will be fondly remembered for her warm hugs, boundless kindness, forgiving heart, and indomitable spirit. Sherri never met a stranger.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and cooking shows, crossword and word search puzzles, volunteer work, cats, good conversation, and socializing with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard (Bud) Lee, with whom she shared a home in Koontz Lake, Indiana, and her granddaughter by marriage, Faith Greensides.
Sherri is survived by her son, Justin Moore (Iris); her son, Matt Moore (Celina); her daughter, Ally Brennan (Nick) and their son, Silas; her daughter by marriage, Sara O’Connor (Dan) and their three children, Michael, Blake, and Olivia; her son by marriage, Jeremy Lee (Sarah) and their two children, Keaira and Jered; and her son by marriage, Josh Lee (Veronica). Sherri is also survived by her sister, Lisa Gayle (Chris) and Lisa's children Michael Mcbee (Trish Gray) and Michelle Halterman (Luther), and their daughter Peyton, as well as Lisa’s children by marriage, Michael and Angie Bragg.
A memorial service to celebrate Sherri's life will be held at a future date.
While our hearts ache with the void left by Sherri's departure, we find solace in enduring warmth of her memory and the love she held for her family.
