Mrs. Sharon Lynne Stockman Jones passed into the arm of the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Born in Spartanburg, she was the wife of the late Alex Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen Richard and Bessie Valerie Westbrook Stockman, and a brother, Leon E. Stockman, a sister, Merle Anne S. Whalen, a niece Rose Marie S. Hunter, and a nephew Richard C. Stockman.
A graduate of Spartanburg High School (class of 1947) and a Converse College graduate (class of 1951) she was an educator serving in D.R. Hill Jr. High School and James F. Byrnes High School.
She faithfully served her church as an organist for 64 years and served as Music Director for The J. F. Floyd Mortuary.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two nieces, Camille S. Buchanan (Tim) of Spartanburg, and Lori W. Leathers (Randy) of Greenville, a nephew, Wesley M. Whalen (Tonja) of Spartanburg and six great nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, August 23, 2024, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St, Spartanburg, SC, 29307, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
