Sharon Bailey

Sharon Baker Bailey “Ms. O” died Friday, December 2, 2022. Born June 16, 1955, in Thomas County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Jack Baker and Juanita Baker of Pelham, Georgia. She was married to the love of her life, the late Ronald “Onion” Bailey.

Sharon was a 1973 graduate of Pelham High School in Pelham, Georgia. She was an Office Manager for the Law Firm Lyles, Darr & Nettles of Spartanburg where she was a loyal and faithful employee for over 40 years. She loved her law firm family and they loved her. Sharon was well respected and lauded for her work ethic, her kind spirit and her acts of generosity.

Sharon and Ronnie enjoyed over 40 years of marriage where together they rode motorcycles with “The Shop” of Spartanburg, a long-standing organization involved in various community awareness and charitable fund-raising programs. She was active at Piedmont Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshiping and serving the community. Sharon had a servant’s heart and was a selfless and devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Survivors include one sister, Tammy Holton (Richard) of Tifton, Georgia; her brother-in-law, Walt Spence of Richmond, Virginia; several aunts, uncles, cousins, ten nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry L. Baker, and two sisters, Trisha Spence and Linda Nodine.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29307. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Internment will be held in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Larry Fleming of Piedmont Baptist Church and Mr. Randy Easler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Children's Advocacy Center, 100 Washington Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302; Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302; Safe Homes Rape Crisis, 236 Union Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Piedmont Baptist Church, 5524 Chesnee Hwy. Chesnee, SC 29323.
