Frances "Nana" McGraw, age 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Spartanburg, SC. She was born on February 27, 1930, in Spartanburg to her parents, the late, George Washington Jones and Nanny Frances Stephens Jones.
"Nana" dedicated her life to helping others and was a testament to selflessness. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her work at Cardio Medical Group as she lived each day for her family and the Lord. She was a breast cancer survivor. “Nana” and her husband were strong supporters of the Shriners Hospital for Children.
She had a green thumb and found solace in gardening, loved the Clemson Tigers, and found joy in watching golf with her late husband.
Frances was married to Ernest E. McGraw for 51 wonderful years. Their relationship served as an inspiration to all who knew them. They were members of El Bethel United Methodist Church for over 63 years.
Frances is survived by her daughters Gina Bridges (Dwight) of Duncan, SC, and Lisa Williams (Tracy) of Inman, SC. Her grandchildren, Shelby Baird (Justin) of Longview, TX; Sarah Acosta (Alan) of Goldsboro, NC; Nicholas Bridges of Spartanburg, SC; Emily Catherine Williams of Woodruff, SC; Sydney Smidt (Chaz) of Italy; and Alex Bridges of Spartanburg; great-grandchildren Camilla and Theodore Baird of Longview, TX; Adam Acosta of Goldsboro NC, were all deeply cherished by their Nana. Also survived by her sister Hazel Hass.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Earnest E. McGraw; siblings, Julie Johnston, John L. Jones, Sr., James D. Jones and George W. Jones, Jr.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
Funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, to be conducted by The Rev. Phillip Park. Burial will be held privately.
