Sarah Louise Wright Coggins

Sarah Wright Coggins, age 85 of Spartanburg, died on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Brookstone Terrace in Woodruff, SC  She was born on April 8, 1940, in Cherokee County, a daughter of the late William and Ellen Gordon Wright.  Sarah was the wife of the late James Albert Coggins and was first married to the late Howard Ray Henderson. 

Mrs. Coggins was a faithful member of Peace Freewill Baptist Church.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She raised her family in a home full of love and laughter.  

She is survived by two grandsons, Shane and his wife, Julie Cleapor, Josh Cleapor and his wife, Mandi, and Tim Wright and his wife, Teresa,  all of Spartanburg; six great grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Will, JD, Logan and Avery; six great great grandchildren and a brother, Saul Wright of Pacolet.  In addition to both of her husbands, Sarah was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Cleapor, and four brothers, Silas Wright, Job Wright, James Wright and Paul Wright.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 pm, Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Peace Freewill Baptist Church, 1195 Old Converse Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.  Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm, in the church sanctuary conducted by Rev. Shane Cleapor and Rev. Chuck Thornton.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of Shane and Julie Cleapor following the services.
