Sandra Lee Fergus, age 80 of Spartanburg, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025. She was born on July 19, 1945, in Gastonia, NC.
Sandra dedicated 15 years of her career to helping families find their dream homes while working with Century 21, ReMax, and Walker, Wallace, and Emerson Realty.
She was an avid reader, particularly drawn to mysteries and to history. Her reading would influence her love for travel and trivia.
Sandra's greatest joys were found in her garden. She qualified as a Clemson Master Gardener and was a proud member of the Spartanburg Beekeepers Association. She enjoyed growing flowers, fruits and vegetables. She loved providing an environment for the bees and birds. She and her husband would make jam, harvest honey, and eat the vegetables they had grown. It was a labor of love.
She leaves behind a devoted husband, James L. Fergus; her sons, James R.L. Fergus, Jayson Sanstrum; her daughter Leah Sommons; and her much beloved grandchildren, Katie, Zane, Cylie, Trey and Kinsley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hatcher Gardens, P.O. Box 2337 Spartanburg, SC 29304.
Sandra’s spirit will remain in the hearts of those who love her where she walks through a garden in full bloom with no weeds.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
