Rufus Steadman

Rufus Edward Steadman, 78, of Spartanburg, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Steadman was born on May 21, 1934, in Inman, S.C, a son of the late Rufus Dewey and Marion Gertrude Clement Steadman, and was married to the late Lillian Virginia Sproles Steadman. Mr. Steadman was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Duke Energy Corporation. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Surviving is his son, Michael Edward Steadman of Rutherfordton, NC; his grandson, Michael Trent Steadman of Rutherfordton, NC; his sister, Martha S. Vansant of Columbia, SC; and his brother, James Steadman of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Cooper. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
