Ronnie Edward Lemmons, known as "River Dog," passed away unexpectedly at the age of 63, on October 14, 2025, in Cowpens, SC. Born on August 27, 1962, in Cowpens, Ronnie was the son of Virginia Seagle Lemmons and the late Walter Edward Lemmons.

A proud graduate of Broome High School, Ronnie made his mark as an athlete on the football field and drove the school bus. After completing his education, he built a commendable career at Nestlé, where he dedicated 35 years of service before retiring.

Ronnie had a love for sports, particularly the moments spent watching his son, Roy, coach football and wrestling. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys cheering on his favorite team. Ronnie also enjoyed dirt track racing, shooting fireworks and just spending time with his family. He was a man of great character, known for having a big, giving heart that touched the lives of all who knew him.

His legacy is carried on by his loving family, which includes his son, Roy Lemmons, and Roy's wife, Leslie, of Ninety Six, SC. He was a devoted grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Lydia, who was undoubtedly one of his proudest accomplishments. Also grieving his loss, his mother, Virginia Lemmons, of Cowpens; his siblings, Roxanne Hunter of Spartanburg and Billy Lemmons (Kristie) of Gaffney; and additional family members, Rebecca Villapol, Justin Villapol, Shay Crocker, Chase Hunter, and Kallie Lemmons. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lemmons, and a sibling, Denise Villapol.

Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at 2:00 PM, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Trent Watson.

Pallbearers will be Cody Godfrey, Craig Kirby, Justin Villapol, Dennis Watson, David Weathers and Tommy Weaver.

Ronnie Edward Lemmons will be remembered not only for his love of family and sports but also for the kindness he extended to all. His memory will surely live on in the hearts of those he touched.
