Ronald L. Wright

Ronald L. Wright, age 57, of Moore, SC, went to be with his Lord after a brave battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 24^th, 2023, surrounded by his family.  He was the son of the late Sally McBrien Wright and Terry L. Wright of Columbus, OH.  Ron was born in Columbus, Ohio but traveled the world.

Ron served over 13 years in the United States Navy and two years in the reserves achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After the Navy, he was the Ceremonies Coordinator for the White House Military Office and later the Assistant Director of the Military District of Washington. For the past 10 years he has worked as a Claims Adjuster for State Farm. He was a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Ron enjoyed coaching, watching and cheering for his sons’ basketball teams. He was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

In addition to his father, Terry, Ron leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Georgi Jones Wright of Moore, two precious sons, Joshua and Nicholas Wright, his sister, Chantel Dorsey of Columbus, OH, father and mother-in-law, Jim and Suzie Jones, Sr., of Spartanburg, brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Cathy Jones, Jr. of Herndon, VA, Greg and Kathy Jones of Mt. Pleasant, SC as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 pm, Friday, July 7, 2023, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, 29307.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 290 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC with Father David R. Whitman officiating.
